Meet Our Race Team

Alexander Gutierrez - TAG Masters

undefinedAlex has been involved with karting from the ripe age of 11. Started racing out of the back of a pick up truck with his father at the local clubs in Southern California. Racing at Gold Coast Karters, Tri-C Karters and L.A.K.C, with the occasional appearance at IKF Region 7 and Stars of Tomorrow races. Taking a long hiatus to become an "adult", Alex came back on to the scene in 2010.
Since his return, Alex has finished in the top 5 of all championships he has participated in, joined CatKart in 2016 and won the TAG Masters championship at Tri-C in 2018. With his experience, maturity, and outgoing nature he is the Team Lead and Director at CatKart Racing.

In his private time, Alex enjoys spending time with his wife and two beautiful daughters. They reside in the Santa Clarita Valley just a few miles north of Los Angeles.

Marcus Shaw - KA 100 Sr.

undefinedBorn in Santa Monica and raised in the San Fernando Valley, Marcus Shaw has grown up in the epicenter of racing history. From his first time driving a kart at the age of 4 to his current daily routine simulations Marcus has shown an unquenched desire to go faster.

His recent racing has included testing in a Rotax in 2017, and a full racing season of Lo206 Sr in 2018. Marcus will continue developing his racing skills by competing in the KA 100 Sr. class in 2019 representing CatKart racing in his new Merlin LM30.

Andrew Chapman - TAG Jr.

undefinedIn 2018, Andrew competed in the very competitive Lo206 class at Tri-C Karters. Andrew who is always a contender for race wins, will represent CatKart Racing again in 2019. This upcoming season Andrew will be racing in the X30 Jr class with both SKUSA and Tri-C Karters.

Andrew lives in Pasadena, California with his dog Fizzy (and, by the way, his parents). He is confident that he will eventually make a living driving race cars, but is nevertheless attending 8th grade at his local Junior Highschool.

Justin Schuoler - 100cc Sr.

Justin grew up racing motocross since the mid-90s and recently has transitioned into karting. Some of his top honors have been the 1999 Sponsorship Series Championship, pioneer winner for the LO-206 Sr race at Tri-C Karters in 2016 and a runner-up LO-206 Championship in Tri-C Karters in 2016. Recently taking time off to work for Tri-C Karters as a race official, his highly anticipated return to karting should be something to watch!

When not at the track, Justin handles media coverage and broadcasting for NASCAR, karting and other motorsport series across the western states. You can read some of his publications at SpeedwayMedia. He and his wife Rachel, a motorsports photographer, reside in Valencia, Ca north of Los Angeles.

Shop Mechanic - Ryan Andres

Ryan, or as we affectionately call him, Squirrel, has been with CatKart for 4 years now. His knowledge of the mechanical world is ever expanding. He can diagnose anything from a Go-Ped to a 250cc Shifter kart motor. The GoPed master can provide you the best solution or options for your setup on the spot!

Ryan is also an avid racer himself. He has participated in many Lo206 races and his race craft is continually improving. Always determined to make his way to the front, and to be able to get the best out of the kart.

Squirrel will spend his time looking over your equipment and make sure that when you roll out in your kart, go ped or mini bike that it is not only screaming in performance but that your safety is prioritized!
